Shell Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) operates under a joint-venture arrangement with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG and Nigeria Agip Oil Company limited (NAOC). SPDC remains a pioneer and leader of the petroleum industry in Nigeria and has the largest acreage in the country from which it still produces around 1 million barrels of oil per day on average about 39 per cent of the nation’s oil.
